Advice

You may have specific questions on which products are best or go best together and I am more than happy to speak with you on a one to one basis if you prefer (just use the contact link above) but I thought it would be a good idea if I gave some general advice about my systems as it may answer your questions more quickly whilst you browse my website.

Can you fit these systems?

I no longer fit systems. My systems are designed for self fit with plug and play leads etc so you don’t have to be an expert in cars or audio.  Instructions have colour pictures and are easy to follow.

I just want a full audio kit for great sound but I don’t know what to buy.

Simple, just contact me.  I will give you my honest advice on the different products and options open to you based on your requirements and budget.  Use the contact form to get in touch and if you want to leave your contact number then I’ll call you back.

Will your kit work on non-bose GTR’s?

Yes, the plug and play lead works and so you can add subwoofers on their own or full systems.  The front door kits will require a different Hertz speaker set as you will only have a two way system and not three, but there is a Hertz set which suits perfectly.  It also makes it slitghly cheaper.

How much sound deadening do I need?

You certainly need some, as I have seen a few installs used without it and of course, the overall result can frustrate if you don’t at least get rid of some of the rattles as the 8″ sub pounds behind your seats.  For the rear area when fitting a sub kit then I would recommend the Skinz 7 sheet pack as a minimum.  For a near complete rear seat area coverage, the Skinz 27 sheet pack would suit you better.  Three packs of Skinz 27 Bulk pack will do the whole car including the boot, front doors, rear seat area and under the front seats.

How much power do I need for the sub kit?

The Kicker L7 Solobaric is rated at 450w RMS but it will happily take more.  I would say 500w-700w would be perfect.

How long does installation take?

A single sub kit without running a power wire or installing sound deadening but hiding the amp should take no more than a couple of hours.  If you have done it before, probably half that.  Sound deadening with 7 sheets will add another 30 minutes or so and a 27 sheet install probably a couple of extra hours.  The power wire installation is around 20 minutes.  The front door kit is probably around 2 hours for the doors themselves and then another 2 hours for the under seat work.  Again, if you have done it before probably less.  My instructions come with colour pictures and are step by step.
